    When she is in the middle of the room, he puts down the mirror. Snapping his fingers once again, the gate closes with a massive thud, much quicker and louder than before.

    Then he teleports to the top of the stairs, vanishing in a cloud of mist.

    Now Dracula is able to see her with his own eyes, close enough to hear her heartbeat. Smell her scent. Her gaze meet his from across the lobby, brave and fearless and impossibly blue.

    His mouth drops open in disbelief, eyes as wide as saucers.

    She's too far away to see, too far away to notice how his breath hitches, the way his eyes unfocus from their sockets. Too far away... So long...
