Summary
Arada wants to be sure she'll be able to keep her friends safe on the next survey, so she enrolls in a weapons training course. But Murderbot isn't going to let another human teach *its* humans how to use weapons, so it tells her that if she wants to learn how to use a gun, it's going to be teaching her itself.

Summary
An unfortunate error caused PreservationAux to start their survey late, and Murderbot found itself rented by a different survey crew. It ended up on the same shitty planet anyway.

Summary
I may be a vast and immensely powerful MI, but even so (or perhaps, and especially so) I am not immune to finding artifacts in my functionality reports. Sometimes, something fails to get the grain of processing power it needs to complete the query in time and generates a jumble of recursive nonsense code as it stutters in place. I don't spare it another thought as I dismiss the error message and forward the report as reference for cleanup. It'll all be gone by the next cycle.

Summary
She has finally killed him. Her spouse, the tormentor of her people, and her long lost friend in both of them. Or so she thought. If only he would have stayed dead.
The mysterious woman has to deal with the elktaur longer than she thought she would and we get to look inside her head while she does! I really like these characters and wanted to shake these interactions out of them. I don't know if they'll kiss yet, I haven't gotten that far.

Summary
“You can stay.” The voice interrupts his internal panic, and he looks over to find Jon studiously avoiding his gaze, staring hard at a neighboring bush. Martin wonders what caused his sudden change of heart. “But you have to sit on the other side. And don’t talk to me.”
Jonathan Sims and Martin Blackwood meet as children. Some things change, others do not.

Summary
Martin has always liked the idea of love at first sight.
It’s such a romantic idea, the whole thing of it. Seeing someone and instantly feeling that strange, twisting feeling deep inside that every single media likes to obsess over. Of knowing you are in love within the day, petals falling from your mouth and warmth filling your chest as love burrows deep, vines twisting through your lungs.
He always liked the idea of it.
And then Jonathan Sims starts working at the Magnus Institute.

Summary
“My grandmother taught me about selkies,” said the tattooed man. “Said it’s good luck for them to grace your ship. To treat ‘em right, and they’ll guide you safe.”
It had seemed like a reasonable thing to believe.
