If he’d wanted to, Seonghwa could have gotten himself out of this situation years ago by pretending to be obtuse. He could’ve ignored the unspoken words, the silent questions, the lingering, and his friendship with Hongjoong would have remained untainted by possibility. He wouldn’t even have given himself the chance to imagine.
But he notices things, and he remembers, and he continues to have hope despite all the evidence stacked against him. It’s kind of fucked up.

A photo, slightly blurry, taken from a fan’s phone in the middle of a concert. Hyunjin’s hair is bright red, vivid enough that it looks real even through the screen, and Jisung has an arm slung over his shoulder. They look like they’re the only people on the stage; on the planet. It’s disarmingly intimate. There’s a tension that anybody can see: the way they’re singing, the way their bodies are turned towards each other almost subconsciously. They’re magnetic.
It’s not love, not yet, but it sure is something.

Summary
Hyunjin baulks. Had his roommates been killed and replaced by clones of themselves? Is that what was going on? Since when did they talk like this, especially with each other? What happened to cuddling being gross?
The two of them keep talking, quieter than before. Hyunjin’s mind is whirring at a hundred miles per hour. He’s playing back every interaction he’s seen between the two recently, trying to figure out when exactly Minho had gone from threatening to poke Seungmin’s eyes out with used chopsticks to sharing a bed with him of his own free will.
Or: Minho and Seungmin think they’re doing a good job of hiding their relationship from their members. The members in question would beg to differ.

“Do you remember two weeks ago when I bought you coffee twice in a row instead of alternating like usual and you said you owed me?” Seungmin asks without any sort of preface. Minho blinks at him uncomprehendingly. “I’m here to cash in the favour now.”
“You interrupted my rest time at ass o’clock in the middle of the week to come ask for a coffee I owe you?”
Seungmin shakes his head. “No. I need you to pretend to date me.”
Minho blinks at him again, then shuts the door in his face.After confessing and getting rejected by his best friend, Seungmin comes up with an elaborate plan to save face that involves fake dating Minho in order to prove that he's moving on. There's no chance of feelings from either side, since they're both already caught up in their unrequited ones - right?

Ren stares at the light-up dartboard. "This is our rematch?"
"Indeed." Akechi turns and levels a serious look at him. "Do you have a problem with that?"
There are many problems with it. "I thought you meant, like, in the Metaverse," Ren says. "Like we were going to go beat each other up."
"Well." Akechi flips his hair out of his eyes and opens up a fancy little case with his fancy little darts that let him somehow always throw bullseyes. "That's your fault for making the wrong assumption, isn't it?"
"It's your fault for being evasive and unclear," Ren argues. Rather futilely, but it's the thought that counts.
Akechi's eyes dance under the fluorescent lights—oh, Ren's definitely being laughed at now. "701. First to zero wins. I'll even be a good sport and let you go first."

"All right," says Akechi, settling grimly into his booth seat like he's getting ready for a war. "I'll entertain your misguided opinions. What elevates Black Condor above every other Featherman not just in the current flight, but in every other flight that's ever been on the screen?"
And once again Ren is staring the awkward truth in the face. I'm not really into Featherman. I lied the other day. I just couldn't cope with living in Tokyo without you, so I had to take weird measures, haha. Yeah, you're right, it is pretty pathetic. No, don't leave.
It starts when Ren buys a Featherman keychain in memory of his rival. No problems so far, except that his rival is dead, and Tokyo is a hollowed-out husk without him. But when Ren runs into Akechi at a midnight premiere, the landscape changes, and he's faced with his biggest challenge since he killed his last god: Convince Goro Akechi that he likes Featherman.
