He grabbed a ribbon from the corner of his desk, and tied it around the rolled parchment. Then, assuring its tightness was sufficient, he walked to the curtained window, socked feet quiet on the hard floor.
A cough from outside his chamber’s doors had Merlin freezing in his tracks as he raised a hand to open his curtains. Shuffling from the guards had him holding his breath, anxious anticipation suffocating him.
