He’d never planned to get as close as they did, but if Javier was being honest, he wanted John, too. He was just stupid enough to think he’d change for him. John ain’t even changing for the mother of his kid, but he thought that his relationship with John was unlike John and Abigail’s, like somehow this brotherhood of theirs would get him further than poor Abigail.
Javier thought that that arrangement didn’t have to change anything in their friendship, that it was simply an addition to the side.
How wrong was he. He should’ve known, in a world like theirs, that it would change everything.
