“I wish we could all be together all the time,” he muses.
Abed nods in agreement. “It’s unfortunate that we can’t. Reality doesn’t comply with a found-family narrative. We don't really get the opportunity to live it out."
(Or, Troy comes back from his trip after years of being away and stays at Abed's house with the study group for the duration of a weekend designated for reuniting purposes.)

A few months into dating Abed, Troy asks if they can switch things up a little.
As it turns out, Abed doesn’t need much persuading.
‘Yeah, I want that,’ he says immediately. ‘Do you mean now? Or is that too fast?’
Troy’s mouth goes dry, blood racing southward. ‘Yeah. To going now, not to it being too fast, unless… are you sure?’
Abed blinks. ‘Did I forget to inflect? Because in that case you should definitely feel free to read into all available physiological signs.’ He presses his hips upwards to make his point, eyes mischievous.
Troy refuses to let his brain jump track to stressing over whether Abed’s actually wanted to do things this way round the whole time and Troy’s been selfishly denying him. Instead he focuses on the fact that they both definitely want it right now.
He skims his knuckles over Abed’s cheek. ‘I might need you to help me,’ he says, voice rough.
‘I can do that,’ Abed promises him softly, turning his head to brush his lips against Troy’s hand.
