In which Buggy's fleet is attacked, and he has (more than) a bit of a breakdown. Spirals right into insanity, actually. Then Shanks finds him, and for the first time in 20 years get's a good nights rest. He can't understand why Buggy's in the situation he's in, or how he's managed to piss so many people off. He just hopes his crew on the Red Force will eventually learn to love the feral little ex-convict.

Summary
Slowly, he rolls onto his side, curling inward without meaning to. His palms settle against his lower stomach, fingers spread wide, hands bigger than they used to be. Or maybe all of him is bigger, and he's aging, and his body is just more his now than he can remember.
He feels so empty.
Just one heartbeat, only his voice in his head, one lonely body curled up in bed.

“Will, come on.” The doorknob rattles. “You're freaking me out.” Mike sounds closer now, worried. “I'm sick of you pushing me away. I'm not joking around.”
Will imagines him standing on the other side of the door, one hand gripping the frame, eyebrows drawn together. Waiting, the way he always is.
“At least let me know you're alive in there.” Mike's voice cracks, and the sound makes Will's throat tighten immediately. “Will, I'm serious, and I mean it. I'll break this door down.”

Summary

Of course, then the bastard went and almost got himself killed—nearly ripping Buggy apart in the process as well.

Before Mike left for school the next morning, he looked positively giddy in his new outfit and ‘masculine’ cologne. Karen almost made him pose for a picture because of how handsome he looked, but she didn’t want to risk losing the mom points she’d worked so hard to earn the night before. Karen was really starting to gain confidence in her assumption about it being for a new girl. She was vaguely aware that Mike had a little girlfriend in the past—some puppy love situation—but obviously, he had his eye on someone new now.
What threw her for a loop, however, was when Mike carefully selected one of his new outfits and spent twenty whole minutes in front of the mirror just to hang out with Will.
