Caitlyn paused reading her book to gaze at two of her favorite people. She had encouraged her father the night before, assuring him that Vi loved being around him just as he loved being around her. However, she didn’t expect...
“Oh, I’m sorry sir, I just don’t think that’s a good idea.” Vi said with a small smile on her face before she went back to watering her plants as if she said nothing wrong.

Losing her eye wasn't the only thing Caitlyn had to deal with after the war with Noxus. There was also the guilt, the idea that she could have been killed more times than she could count. All because she was blinded by hatred and anger. Now she can hardly look into the mirror in her bedroom without seeing a gun pointed at her head and Maddie grinning face.

She doesn’t want her to see, because she doesn’t want to muck things up between them. She would never forgive herself if she made something happened between them, and then it didn’t work out. She doesn’t want to lose Cait. She’s the best thing that’s ever happened to her.

It's not exactly an unexpected revelation. Caitlyn doesn’t need to be a detective to know that Vi carries a lot of trauma on her fatigued body, covering her crave for touch and protection under layers of mistrust. What it does surprise her, it’s the fact that she gets the chance to see that side of her, only meant to be shown for people she feels safe around.

It was more than a bit embarrassing really, that Powder had caught Cait staring after her sister on more than one occasion. One July afternoon, when Caitlyn’s blush was a little more prominent than she would have liked, having just watched Vi haul a heavy bag of compost over each shoulder, Powder had shrugged. “Shoot your shot toots.”
(Caitlyn was an excellent shot).
The first press of their lips had been enigmatic.
Vi’s lips were warm and firm, confident. A whisper of something brushed Cait’s cheek, and she only registered it was a strand of her own hair when Vi had tucked it back behind her ear, softly caressing her cheek as she did. Her heart thundered in her chest at the feeling of rough, calloused hands touching her so reverantly.
