But now she's sitting in her hospital bed after a bone marrow biopsy in a daze of pain and half-working painkillers feeling like a useless, ugly, blob of disease that'll get left behind and die alone in that fucking bed and isn't it a little unfair that she can't even fix the ugly part with makeup because what's the point when she has to take it off to sleep? If only there a way to at least get rid of the acne . . .

That. That had registered. “Johnny, don’t you dare,” she’d snapped, voice raising.
He’d flinched. He hadn’t backed down.
“You’re not allowed to ruin this for me, Johnny, I swear to God,” she’d said, her voice shaking.
“Then take. Me. With you,” he’d said. His voice was shaking, too. She hadn’t really noticed, at the time."
A take on the Fantastic Four's origin story, and kind of a character study, mainly between Susan and Johnny Storm.

“With a Doctor Doom impersonator officiating.”
“He said we were his favorite couple of the night, by the way,” Johnny said, yawning. “And he just smiled and nodded when you told him you were actually Spider-Man.”

Peter welcomes Johnny back from the Negative Zone, marries him, and falls in love. In that order.
