Summary
"Don't go."
"Hm?"
"Stay here," Regulus says, dropping a kiss on James' temple. "You have your project in the morning, don't you? My place is closer to college. You can take a shower in the morning and go meet up for your project. So, don't go. Just stay."
It's a good idea. A great idea, actually. One of the best Regulus had ever had. James finds himself nodding, pulling Regulus tighter against him and basking in the heat of him and his hand running through his hair and he thinks he might've said that out loud, because he hears Regulus giggle– giggle – and his last thought before getting pulled into sleep is that this sound is the prettiest lullaby he has ever heard.
Or: Five times Regulus gives James an excuse to sleep at his place + one he doesn't have to.

Summary
They treat Regulus as a ghost story. Something to share around a fireplace to scare kids, to make them not hate dragons because they're good as long as you are good. Regulus isn't a person to them. He's a curse. A sacrifice.
Not to Sirius, though. Never to Sirius.
After years of Regulus Black being missing, James goes out alone on a mission far from Berk. What he doesn't account for is to encounter the very same ghost that has been haunting his best friend's life.

Summary
James' arms wrap around Regulus in the glow of the porch, and he basks in the heat it offers in the chilly week night. A soft hum escapes his lips, and he feels more than hears James chuckling.
Hands slip up from his waist to his shoulders, to the back of his neck, diving in the grown curls at his nape before sliding to cup his cheeks. James does it so reverently. Not like he's holding something fragile, or fickle. Regulus always hated being perceived like that— like something that needs protection, needs to be saved, that needs care and to be coddled. He's never even said out loud, but, somehow, James knows.
James doesn't do any of that. No. James holds him like he's precious.

Summary
He catches a glimpse of the commotion in the center of the field and catches a glimpse of him– the youngest seeker to ever be recruited by a professional team, the fastest flier Hogwarts has ever seen, Sirius’ Little Reggie.
James hears Rosier calling out for the healers, watches as part of the crowd that has gathered there turns their attention to them, as Regulus moves his head to lock eyes with him.
His brows are furrowed, the healers around him are checking his head, and there's a bludger on the grass just a few inches from him, and even from afar, James can tell he's just as disorientated as him, just as lost, just as…
Oh.
Oh.
That's– shit.
or: A quidditch match incident, pain-sharing soulmates and a very hard to meet Regulus Black.

Summary
“Your parents won't care about you bringing a random guest for Christmas?” was his attempt at placing obstacles on their way. Anything for James to take it back and nevermind it.
“They've been going on and on about me bringing a partner this year. I'm doing just that, aren't I?” he smiles, cocking his head to the side, and, oh, Regulus hates him.
Regulus swallows down the urge to slap him for making him feel butterflies. He's a grown man, for fucks sake. “I don't think that's what they meant, James.”
“No, Reg. That's exactly what they meant.”
or, Regulus is set on spending Christmas in the lab. James has other ideas.

Summary
His Mom smiles at him with a knowing look, and Jonathan has an arch to his brow like he wants to ask more – but before either can, there’s the sound of a thud.
Will’s smile falls into his stomach. It wrenches with fear, with horror.
All three look to the entrance of the lounge, the direction of the thud.
“Shit,” says someone out of sight, just beyond the entrance, almost too soft to catch.
Will’s blood runs cold, because he knows that voice, knows the specific lilt of it.
“Mike?"
Or, Will comes out on his own terms, to the two people who truly matter - and is overheard by the one other person who means the most. In wake of the revelation, they decide to split off and take the final battle with Vecna into their own hands, all while navigating the undeniable pull that grows between them.

“I think it could be fun. It would be pretty cool to, y’know, be around other people who are… Like me.” He’s avoiding Mike’s eyes as he finishes his sentence.
Mike nods. If only he knew he’s around people like him a lot more often than he realizes. “We can definitely do that.”

Summary
There stood Mike, frozen like a statue. In front of him, Will was bent over, digging through the fruit drawer of the refrigerator. After a moment, Will straightened up with a ripe peach in hand. Ted watched his son continue staring at the exact spot Will’s backside had just occupied, wearing an expression of pure, hopeless longing.
Ted considered quietly backing out of the room.
"For God's sake, Michael," He said, instead. "Either take something out or close the door. I'm not paying to refrigerate the whole neighborhood."
Will turned around, blinking in mild confusion.
Mike’s face bloomed bright red. The blush was quickly overtaken by a scowl. He slammed the refrigerator door hard enough to rattle every magnet on it. “I was getting something! Sorry it took more than two seconds-"
“When exactly did your mother start storing the snacks in the back pockets of Will’s jeans?”
“Oh my God.” Mike spun on his heel and stormed toward the stairs. “You are so-" The rest was lost to thundering footsteps and the inevitable slam of his bedroom door.
Or, Ted realizes sometimes you need to be locked in the closet before coming out of it.

Summary
“My angel,” Mike murmurs. “My baby. I’ve got you.”
And look, Mike knows, okay? He knows he’s sappy. Knows that he maybe overdoes it a little with the soft, syrupy names. But Will is the best thing that has ever happened to him. Mike doesn’t know how not to love him like this: loudly and over-the-top, all sweetness and gentle hands in the dark.

Four years of peace, completely shattered. Mike and Will begin experiencing haunting, inescapable visions of their worst nightmares coming to life, and they both revolve around the same fatal weakness: their love for each other.
