“The—the deal,” Mike repeats, agitated. “Did we close it? This morning?”
Silence. The beeping from Mike’s vitals monitor continues steadily. Mike stares at Harvey. Harvey stares back. Mike doesn’t think he’s ever seen Harvey speechless before, but that’s the word he’d use now, as Harvey’s mouth opens and nothing comes out for a solid five seconds.
Finally, Harvey finds his voice. “You passed out in the middle of a conference room and you’re asking if we closed a deal?”
Mike blinks. “Um. Yes.”
Mike has appendicitis. Harvey has a realization.

Alex reaches up to do–he doesn’t know what, he just wants Logan to stop looking so lost and desperate and despairing, to stop hurting himself. His hands hover awkwardly as Logan continues, voice growing tighter, fists clenching tufts of blond hair. “It’s on me. All that shit is on me. I know it, and you know it, and James knows it, and the whole fucking world knows it–”
Alex kisses him.

Then it’s Pete’s turn. Nick and Tom exit the closet uneventfully, and then Nick presses the empty beer bottle into Pete’s palm, a mischievous grin spread across his face. “You’re up, Mav,” he says.
“I hate you,” Pete says half-heartedly in response.
“Love you too, man,” Nick replies, patting him on the shoulder magnanimously as Pete leans in, places the bottle on the ground, and spins it. It swivels around and around for what seems like an eternity before finally coming to a soft halt.
Pete knows who it’s pointing to before he follows the path the mouth of the bottle is directed towards, but he looks anyway.
Tom stares back at him, ice-blue eyes glinting in the light.
Well, fuck.
Vodka, a small closet, two men who can't see what's right in front of their noses, and their conspiring best friends. What could possibly go wrong?
