Summary
Just after his eleventh birthday, Sam Winchester received a letter dropped off by an owl of all things. Dean Winchester knew two things: First, their dad would absolutely kill a wizard, even if he was family, and second, this Ilvermorny place was not far enough away from their father by any stretch of the imagination.
Harry Potter chose a very important train compartment on his first ride to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There was a small boy sitting alone in the compartment reading, and this boy had on his person three knives and a bottle of holy water. Harry Potter had found his people.
Severus Snape thought he must be extremely unlucky to be the only faculty member at the school who had a muggle landline phone at his summer residence…unlucky, but also so very thankful. Because after countless shocking, concerning, and frankly bizarre calls from one of his students’ guardians each summer, a Dean Winchester, well, Severus’s life was taking on a completely new and welcome direction.

Edit 7/18/26: Most recent reread. Harry is such a little asshole lmao. But it was really interesting to see the comparisons between Harry/Theo and Ron/Hermione - the former had to grow up fast, while the latter thought they did and kept getting into trouble. The epilogue bits are also quite cute.

Harry/Theo story re-write. I loved seeing Harry’s use of magic here and this might be the first story where I am happy that Sirius stayed alive. -

(Read up to Chapter 106, unfinished and ongoing.) Phew, several fun tropes in this one - founders returning to life, manipulative Dumbledore, Houses and politics. The kids are still kids though they get a lot of spotlight to learn and grow. Draco is really well-done in this, as is Ron. I’m usually not too fond of Sirius but this depiction has me cackling sometimes.
