Summary
Liam makes an unamused noise and slides up further against the wall. His shoulder bumps against Theo’s as he shifts, two seconds of leeching warmth untainted by syringes of fool’s-mercury. It feels like a welding gun to his skin, sparks springing onto his unguarded face. Both boys elect to ignore it. “You didn’t tend to my wounds, jackass.”
Theo eyes him wearily. Fantasising about violence is not new to him, but the victim looking like he got run through a meat grinder is, to a degree. Nevertheless, he can play nice. Old dogs have learned new tricks before. “I was going to, but then you said you didn’t want my help, so I guess the freaky murder warehouse ghosts will have to do it instead.”

Bookmarker's Notes
"Theo squints at the shrapnel, pinches the pieces between his fingers. They slot together perfectly, morbid scarlet-silver puzzle. Blood fills the small crevice between them. He can’t tell if it looks like an artery or a scar.
Liam blinks and smiles wanly at the two halves of an unlikely whole with brilliant red-streaked teeth, whispers, “That’s us.” Theo seriously considers driving each piece into the fuckwit’s eyeballs. But if Scott taught him anything, it’s that romantics are mysteriously, tragically immune to blinding."
"Maybe he’s scared that the black veins crawling up his own arm will be mirrored on Liam’s.
Repenting sinner, terrified of an equivalent exchange. Terrified that when he reaches towards saints they reach back. Tunnels are one-way things, he’s learned; the light at the end isn’t meant to move towards you."

Summary
When a coven of witches comes to town, Liam ends up hospitalized after a fight — Except he doesn’t seem to be healing, and it’s sparking worry amongst the pack.
Cue Liam unconsciously wreaking even more havoc via an incredibly fluffy tail and inability to understand any English. Good thing Theo’s there to be his (sometimes also incredibly fluffy) anchor.
Or, Liam earns the ability to full-shift. If only he could earn the ability to shift back.

Summary
Mason says, “We need to talk.”
“Let me guess, it’s not me, it’s you?” Theo drawls, and Mason forcibly reminds himself that he’s not here to let Theo get a rise out of him.
“No, it’s definitely you,” Mason says.

Summary
“The clinic is not an emergency room,” says Deaton.
“They missed my femoral artery,” Theo says tiredly. If they hadn’t, he would have swallowed his pride and dragged his bleeding ass to Beacon Hills Memorial and looked for Melissa, mother of his former murder victim or not.
“And if they hadn’t,” Deaton says. There’s an obvious ellipsis at the end of his statement—or a question mark, maybe—but his tone is flat and final the way he expresses just about anything.
Theo sighs heavily through his nose. Deaton searches his face for another few seconds and apparently concedes the point just this once to the suicidal teenage ex-spy dripping on his floor.

Summary
If Mason were to close his eyes and picture Theo, he’d see him mean-eyed and dangerous. Phony charm shed like snake skin baring malintent. His aftermath, Melissa hunched over Scott’s lifeless body doing chest compressions.
Not like this. Hazy and unnervingly honest. Tips of his ears red, pressing his palms to his cheeks to soak up their warmth. Mason saw it down there, in the basement. The way a slice of pizza and a bear hug from Liam thawed all of his standoffishness into a puddle of belonging. Pity invite or not, Theo showed up for a reason.
Mr. Maybe-I-Want-To-Be-In-The-Pack tries, Mason can at least give him that.
