Honestly he wasn’t sure how to feel, so perhaps this was the only way his body could process his emotions. In 1939, President Franklin D. Roosevelt invited King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to visit the United States, marking the first time a reigning British monarch set foot on American soil. The invitation was extended through diplomatic channels, as was customary for state visits. Naturally, the representative of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was urged to attend in suit. This was a large PR stunt to boost support for his people with the upcoming war. Honestly it was really inevitable, having lived for centuries this was something the Englishman was well in tune to.
