“Maybe I’m letting you win.” He mirrors the expression. Then, observing his friend’s face closer, sits up straighter. “Is there something wrong with that?”

He turns back to Damian, who is still staring at him. Ironically, it is now that he realises that Damian is waiting for him to explain his presence. Because spending time together casually is not something that they do.

The clone wars have begun, and the Jedi are strained to say the least. Ahsoka Tano gets assigned to General Krell for her padawan training. Some on the council hope that his success record will be passed on, while his casualties may decrease with more help. Some think a disciplined Master like Krell will help temper some of Ahsoka’s more…chaotic tendencies while nurturing her clear potential. Ahsoka thinks her faith in the council might be a bit misplaced, because something is wrong with her master, but meeting the clones, the vod’e, might be worth it.

Krell sucks as a Jedi master and Ahsoka finds a family with the clones instead. Things change because of it.

Either way, Damian sat as a lone image on that rooftop. Out of sight and out of mind. As the wind came rushing by once more, Damian let his body tilt into the gust of wind, tipping dangerously over the edge of the building. Though, he didn't allow himself to fall to his death. Managing to swing back up after grabbing hold, only the shortest feeling of weightlessness filled his body before he got himself back up onto the rooftop.
Now standing facing away from the city. Damian looked at the ruins of the building's rooftop. Considering the darkness held within the boundaries of the buildings four walls. Cracked and broken, visibly damaged even as it continued to try to hold itself together. Behind him on the horizon, the sun begun to rise in earnest. However, Damian couldn't watch it's rise.

Damian's only been in Gotham for a short while and he's found nothing but grief. There's a destiny laid out for Damian that he feels he'll inevitably walk towards. Fate though, might not be so set in stone. Displaced, Damian finds himself thrust into opportunities to fix things or to die trying.
