He wanted to have one last, truly happy moment before he did something that would terrify him. Of course, he was optimistic that things would work out and that Monday would truly be the happiest day of his life to date, but just in case it wasn’t... On the slightest chance that it wasn’t the happiest day of his entire life, and instead up there with one of the worst, he wanted to have this last weekend.
This last moment of pure joy with his pack and friends. His new family. The people he would give anything for.
And Stiles, of course. Always Stiles.
Whom he loved more than anyone. More than he’d ever loved Paige. More than he’d ever thought he’d loved Kate. Stiles was his everything, and he was both looking forward to and dreading letting him know that.

Seriously, his embarrassment level couldn’t get any lower at this point. It was bad enough to imagine it was his dad, but to know Scott had come to take care of him was worse.
But not nearly as bad as the absolute horror and astronomical levels of embarrassment when Stiles walked into the kitchen and found Derek at the stove making French toast. Because of course it was Derek. If someone was going to see Stiles naked and passed out cold on his bed, why wouldn’t it be Derek? His long-time crush and provider of fap material? Sure, why not, life wasn’t horrible enough yet, might as well make it downright dreadful!

“You’re awake.” He felt the bed dip, like Derek had sat down beside him. His hand was taken away from his forehead gently and replaced with a cold cloth. Derek had probably left him to grab it, since Stiles knew his boyfriend well enough to know he’d never leave him alone for long.
His humanity was something Derek still struggled with sometimes, because he was afraid of how fragile Stiles could be.
“Wish I wasn’t,” Stiles admitted with a small groan, forcing his eyes open and turning to glance at Derek. He had a blank expression, which Stiles knew meant he was worried but trying really hard not to show it. “How long have I been out?”
“Maybe two hours,” Derek said, still situating the cloth on his forehead, like he wasn’t happy with where it was located. “Been home for only one and a half though.”

Stiles was literally everything to him, and Derek didn’t know how to handle that. He didn’t know how to explain to Stiles that he wanted him to stop running headlong into danger not because he couldn’t take care of himself, but because Derek would literally lose his mind if something happened to him. He didn’t know how to ask him to spend more time together, maybe go out and grab dinner, catch a movie, go for a fucking walk, he didn’t know. He just wanted to be able to spend time with him, and he didn’t know how to ask.
He knew Scott had noticed. Guy was an idiot in most things, but he was also a Werewolf. He’d clued in that something had changed. Maybe he’d noticed that there were more casual touches between Derek and Stiles, like when he’d pat his back, or brush his arm, or grab his shoulder. Maybe he’d noticed the scents coming off Derek whenever he was near Stiles, which could range from longing, to want, to self-doubt, to arousal.
