When Kageyama starts acting weird and twitchy around him, it takes Hinata approximately two hours to notice. It then takes him about two more days before he figures out why Kageyama is acting so strange -- namely, that he finally caught a clue about his big stupid crush on Hinata. Obviously Hinata knows about the big stupid crush -- he’s not blind, and Kageyama has about as much subtlety as a tractor.

Today will be a good day, Andrew thinks as he slowly comes to wakefulness. The nightmares that thrum beneath his skin are dull and muffled. He blinks the sleep out of his eyes, his vision clearing to see a shock of auburn hair on the pillow beside him. Neil is sprawled out on his side, his mouth open comically wide, half of his face squished into the pillow. He looks like a deformed octopus. Andrew lets the curl of fondness sweep through his entire body, leaving him feeling warmer than usual.

Ilya's stretched out in a pool of sunshine, lounging across their rumpled bed like a sleek cat, tousled curls spilling across his forehead, clad in nothing more than soft sleep shorts and a jersey.
Shane's jersey, to be specific.
A lightning bolt of arousal sears across Shane's body as he stares at his name on Ilya's back. HOLLANDER, 24 stretches across the broad expanse of Ilya’s shoulders, the bold red lettering even brighter than usual in the sunshine.
He doesn't think he can breathe. He doesn't think he can move.
His name is on Ilya.
OR: Ilya wears Shane's jersey. Shane's perfectly, totally, normal about it. He's definitely not going to drop to his knees immediately about it.

Summary
Shane knew he was like his mother. It was unavoidable. No one looked at the two of them and doubted the genetic connection, let alone when either of them spoke.
All this to say, he was used to being known as Yuna Hollander's son. It was something he hardly thought about. He had gotten equally used to people not recognizing him as David Hollander's son.
This all together should have softened the jolt of shock when Ilya got mistaken for being David Hollander's son, when Shane had rarely had that experience before.
It did not.
____Or: since everyone in fic says shane looks just like his mom, i decided he was going to have *feelings* about it and what's that? ilya coming in to make things emotional in a new way? oh no! :)
