"What is that?"
The horrified cry came from atop the cart. Shang Qinghua's stomach leapt into his throat. The figure of a youth draped in a dark cloak approached from further down the road, but he could already tell that something was off. The way he moved was... wrong, somehow, his body gently rocking back and forth, up and down, as he moved towards them.
"Stay where you are!" Da-shixiong yelled. The youth paid no notice. A feeling of profound unease raised the hairs on the back of Shang Qinghua's neck and urged him to flee, a tickle in his hindbrain that whispered that he was in the presence of a predator.
Shang Qinghua's fate takes a turn when he runs into a snake demon ready to mate on the road.
