V’ehxness held her hand out expectantly and Aotsuki handed her the key he’d pocketed earlier. Then, with a bemused chuff, she hooked the toe of her boot under Takumi’s chin and lifted him up from his groveling position. The grin that split her face in two was nothing short of menacing. Takumi’s heart pounded in his chest, screaming at him to fight or flee, but he was in no position to do either. All he could manage was meeting her intense stare with his own and hoping it didn’t wither with fear.
“I wish to test the true extent of your power outside of combat,” she continued. “Typically, this would be achieved through torture… but my intellectual curiosity extends beyond what is typical.”

He didn't know why he was (or even should be) this flustered, considering it wasn't anything that intimate, let alone anything the other students hadn't been seeing for almost a week by now. He only knew that he was, and that his face was probably now as red as his hair. "C-C'mon, Eito, you can't be serious." he said, trying and failing to hide the shakiness of his voice.
Rather bluntly, Eito replied, "Why wouldn't I be, Takumi? If I'm willing to look at something as hideous as you are for this long, I don't think there's a better word than 'serious,' as far as I know."

Takumi runs down the hallway like a bat out of hell. Their private quarters are relatively isolated, but once Takumi hits the main wing of their headquarters, plenty of recruits stare at him like they've just seen a ghost. He desperately tries not to imagine what he looks like, improperly dressed and red in the face, as he hauls ass to his office. At least two scheduled meetings have already ended, he's late for another, Kamhyun is expecting his notations on her new plan in an hour— he reaches for the heavy office door handles, expecting to come face to face with at least ten people irate with him.
Instead, he only sees Eito. Eito, alone, at Takumi's desk, looking up at the commotion and smiling.
"Good morning, General Sumino."

It was an immutable fact, as the war raged on around the little school Nozomi had built, that at the end of the day he would probably drink himself into a stupor and curl up in a cold bed.
The girl he'd damned the people of this planet to save barely would talk to him. They exchanged pleasantries during the day, but any invitations went ignored or politely declined. He was sure she hated him for going so expressly against her wishes, for dooming Futurum to endless war in the power vacuum resulting from Kamyuhn's death.
