Buck starts leaving homemade cookies around the house for Eddie, thinking they’re just a sweet treat. Then Eddie creates a rule. Every cookie he steals from the jar earns him one kiss from Buck. What begins as a joke quickly turns into a daily game of missing cookies, hidden notes, stolen kisses, and two men finding more and more excuses to stay close. The only problem? Eddie really loves Buck’s cookies. 🍪💋

Buck steps closer again. "Christopher received a tattoo. Onto his face. A big one. I believe it is of the Spiderman."
"A tattoo of—"
Eddie cuts himself off, thinking back to exactly what Chris had been doing at school today. And then promptly bursts into loud laughter, lurching forward slightly with the intensity of the sound.
Buck makes a surprised noise, something sharper than a human can, like tinkling glass, and startles back slightly. "Eddie tattoos are dangerous for young humans! I researched! Why are you laughing?"
"It's not—" Eddie cuts himself off, laughing harder, and stumbles forward to grab Buck's shoulder, over the fabric of his shirt. "It's not a tattoo, Buck. It's face paint."
Alien!Buck learns about washable paint. Him and Eddie explore watercolors.

Summary
When a twelve year old Spider-Man is plucked from their universe and thrown into Gotham mere seconds before their death, the young hero must learn to survive in a new city far more dangerous than the one he left behind.
There’s just one problem: Peter wasn’t being rescued. He’s being used, as bait, for something not even Spider-Man or a team of bat vigilantes may be able to defeat.

B-shift, naturally, was obsessed. Their weekly post-shift gossip sessions had long since evolved from Keeping Up With the Kardashians into Keeping Up With Buddie—a deeply committed, highly analytical investigation into Buck and Eddie’s apparently ridiculous relationship.
When Ravi gets reassigned to A-shift, he’s given one mission: bring back intel.
Because the question remains: are Buck and Eddie actually together or just Like That™?
Ravi expects awkward. What he doesn’t expect is how profoundly, deeply, aggressively weird Buck and Eddie are in person.

This is all perfectly applicable to friendship. Friendships require effort. Intentionality. Sometimes you have to watch a minute long Instagram video about attracting men to figure out how to get your male best friend to come back to your house and fall asleep on your couch again. Or in your bed. Either one.
Whatever Buck's comfortable with. Eddie's not picky.
Eddie will take whatever proximity Buck is willing to offer and be grateful for it, and if that sounds desperate then fine, it's a little desperate, but it's friend-desperate, which is a completely different thing than regular desperate.
He replays the video and takes mental notes, formulating a plan that is simple: get Buck's attention. Spend more time with Buck. Stop feeling like his ribcage has been hollowed out with a melon baller every time he goes forty-eight hours without hearing Buck laugh.
Easy and straightforward. He’s got this.
Or,
Five times Eddie tries to show Buck how much he misses him; plus the one time he just says it.Series

"Hello?" he says to the clothing rack, and wow, okay, so this is his life now, he's a guy who talks to clothing racks in public, that's who he is, that's what he's doing.
"Hi," says the clothing rack again.
Buck peers between the hangers to get a better look—oh. Oh, there's a very small human in there, blinking up at him from inside what appears to be a nest made entirely of women's cardigans.
So that's good, he's not losing his mind, that's a relief.
"Um," Buck says. "Hi?"
The kid has curly hair and big eyes and crutches propped up against the inside of the rack, and he's looking at Buck like Buck is the weird one here, as if Buck is the one who's chosen to make a home inside a department store display instead of living in a house like a normal person.
Or,
Buck trips over a clothing rack and into a sexuality crisis. -

He’s still speaking as Ravi leans down, picks up the remote, and hands it to Buck.

Eddie stops, mid-sentence. Just… stops.

“What’s your name, little guy?” the stranger asks, finishing his sentence by shifting his gaze from Chris to Eddie. He has these piercing blue eyes, Eddie thinks he’s never seen such pretty eyes on anyone but Chris before.
“Christopher,” Eddie responds, “he’s seven months.”
“Man, he’s super adorable,” the guy smiles, “I, uh, I love babies.”
Eddie smiles back, “I love this one, I’m all he’s got. His mother’s not in the picture,” and suddenly Eddie is panicking about oversharing to a kind stranger until the guy speaks again.

Hen’s interest in their new captain was definitely piqued, and she could see that Chimney’s was too – who had he been to the beach and the market with? And why didn’t he want to share it with his crew?
As she ate the delicious meal and looked around at the chattering crew, the atmosphere the lightest it had been since it was announced that Gerrard was on his way out, Hen also found herself hoping that Nash would be sticking around if this was simply a precursor of things to come.
Although hopefully they’d manage to get some more information out of the stoic man at some point.
—
Or, over a decade before Eddie spends months dating the captain’s son without realising it, the 118 gets a new Captain.
Hen, Chim and the rest of the crew struggle with getting to properly know the stern and stoic Captain Nash – and then they get called to a scene where one Evan Buckley-Nash is stuck up a tree.
