Summary
When performing human transmutation to get Al back, instead of trading his alchemy, Ed is sent to another world. One with magic animals running around. He at least has a guide, a kid with tired eyes, like his.
Ash Ketchum has just arrived in the Kalos region when he meets a boy with eyes older than his and no idea and no idea how the world works. At least he doesn't seem like he wants to hurt anyone.
Obviously, they become best friends.

Summary
Jessamine falls in love with Corvo Attano alarmingly quickly, all things considered. They meet on a white beach on Serkonos, young and hopeful, and proceed to grow up together, dragging Dunwall inch by protesting inch into the future.
Then the plague hits, and the whalers come, and Jessamine is rather abruptly dethroned. Not yet ready to abandon her city, Jessamine allows the Outsider to turn her into a tool that might yet help wrest back the throne; the heart, a thing of black magic and undeath.
Dunwall, after all, needs its empress.

Summary
Waverly Boyle has never liked parties, and to throw one now, with the rest of Dunwall drowning in plague, seems especially tasteless. Nonetheless, appearances must be kept, and so her and her sisters open their doors and invite the wealthy in to trade drinks and secrets.
Waverly never sees the end of that party, secreted away on a fishing boat with nothing but an apology and a knife, both given to her by the desperate shadow of the man that was once Corvo Attano.
Years later, when her kidnapper is just bones at the bottom of the ocean, Waverly seeks out Corvo again, to see what became of the man who showed her mercy that day, so long ago.
