The room around him is strangely colorful for a hospital, all blue couches and polka-dotted green curtains hanging around his bed, the walls decorated in unobtrusive shades of white and teal. Little sea creatures decorate the walls in places, rotund, smiling seals playing with happy crabs and fish. "Where… am I?”

"Where are you t-taking me?" Leon demands, face flushing as he stutters. He can only imagine how rough his voice sounds after all that yelling. A tear trickles down his cheek, and the man grins, picking up his big hand and swiping it away. Leon cries out in protest, twisting away, but he can't escape the broad fingers that cup his cheek and turn his face back to centre.
The bag descends over his head a moment later, a helpless sob all Leon can manage before he's plunged back into shapeless darkness.

"Dickhead?" Jason asks, voice softer than Dick's ever known it to be. "Are you awake, Rip Van Winkle?"
"Mmm," Dick manages. His voice is hoarse and raspy, muffled even to his own ears with the mask pressed over his face. He wants to say something else, but all he manages is a slurred selection of incoherent syllables when he tries. Jason laughs sharply. Dick knows it's supposed to come across as aloof, but he can hear the concern hidden beneath the facade. It makes his lips twitch into a faint smile.

He gags hard on the rubbery taste, but the suction tube is still in place so it doesn't do much more than burn his throat.
"Oh, you can take it," the doctor teases from above, fingers squeezing Leon's trachea gently from the outside for a moment. It makes Leon choke again, the doctor's fingers tightening in response; quickly, like he can't help the reaction. "Though, you are a lovely specimen when you're in pain."

Damian is on his hands and knees on the dock, retching up what appears to be half of Gotham Harbour. Tim is beside him, clapping him hard on the back, keeping him steady when his elbows threaten to give out. They both seem to notice his and Wally’s presence at the same time.
“O, patch the Flash into our comms,” Tim says, and then, “Dick, we can’t find Bruce.”

“You’re pale,” Jason continues, then jams his fingers into the side of Dick’s neck again. There’s a fifteen second pause. “Heart rate is through the roof. Are you sure you’re not bleeding anywhere?”
“Nope. My blood’s all on the inside for once,” Dick says.
And then they must come to the inevitable conclusion around the same time, because Jason says, “oh shit,” and Dick says, “get me to Leslie.”
They both went to the Bat School of Field Triage. It’s the loving term they use for Bruce’s four hundred and eighty-seven slide PowerPoint presentation on common field injuries and their treatments. Dick knows, even half out of his mind with chest pain and feeling like he can’t breathe, that just because there’s no blood on the outside of his body doesn’t mean there’s no bleeding.

Summary
Sophie hears the report, but she’s staring at her patient. Nightwing, the fucking protector of Bludhaven, is the one struggling for breath in the ER bed. She hears the paramedic add, “he doesn’t want us to take off the mask,” as she hooks up the ECG leads and loops a blood pressure cuff around his arm. Somebody cuts his suit straight down the chest, baring it to the room.
A blood pressure that makes her stomach flip pops up on the monitor just as the doc starts discussing if they need to intubate. Somebody’s asking where x-ray is. ER techs are lined up outside the door, hovering in case they’re going to need compressions.

Summary
Dick’s eyes, normally bright and sharp, are glazed over in pain, though they still manage to trail over to Jason, the only visible sign he’s actually awake. Another gob of blood leaks from his mouth, landing with a splat into the half-congealed puddle on the floor, and Jason takes a deep breath in through his nose.
He has, in his time as both Robin and Red Hood, seen all manners of injuries. Gross ones. Gruesome ones. They all have. Looking at Dick now, he can see at least six things that’d make a regular person’s stomach turn, but only one that’s got Jason nauseous.
