i was literally just telling my friend about how i need a 20k angst fic that makes me bawl. lo and behold what shows up literally 15 minutes later like pure magic? this fic.
it wasn’t even a eureka moment, i just wanted to see whether i liked the writing, because the summary definitely got to me. then before i know it, two minutes in and my heart is already breaking apart.
i could barely see the screen through my tears for most of it. the concept of “sometimes, love just isn’t enough,” hurts so badly. the idea of not feeling enough, not being enough… there’s nothing more painful.
god, this was amazing. you not only articulated their emotions so well, but all the situations you created to show their pain, explain their feelings, help us understand—were written incredibly—in a way that didn’t feel stale or cliché at all.
my eyes were mostly alright for the first chapter, but when the second chapter came about and i got to know just how much taehyung was hiding, it’s like the dam broke and i just couldn’t stop being an emotional wreck.
i loved this fic. the way they showed that love is worth the effort. and eventually, that love is worth the uncomfortable conversations, is worth the uncertainty of communicating, and is worth taking the time to realise one’s own worth.
i will definitely be remembering this work for a long time. it’s been a while since i’ve been so captivated by a fic that i’ve read it entirely in one sitting—unmoving, unable to take my eyes off the screen. but god, this fic hurt and it hurt so good. you’re an amazing writer.
