Summary
Clancy, a citizen of Dema and devout follower of his Bishops, has grown up hearing tales of the terrifying Banditos that live outside the city. According to legend, they're dangerous, wild, and will not hesitate to snatch citizens from Dema in order for their malicious scheme to grow in numbers.
But when he discovers a colourful, warm, devastatingly beautiful Bandito hiding out in the tunnels beneath his district, Clancy's ideologies begin to change, and mold into something new.

Torchbearer, leader of the Banditos, is searching for another willing citizen to help break the cycle of opression that he has been fighting for years. He's never been successful, but he feels as if this time will be the last. Especially when he meets a scared, curious boy in the tunnels who looks like he'd be the perfect one for the job.
There's one problem, though. Torchbearer isn't supposed to *fall in love* with his recruits, and Clancy isn't supposed to leave Dema.

In 2001 Wisconsin, Joshua Dun’s only job is to answer the emergency phone at the Mandela County Police Department. He’s not supposed to send help to those reporting an alternate encounter; their death is inevitable, and emergency vehicles are becoming more and more scarce as alternates populate the area.
He’s practically killing people.
But when Josh discovers that one of his callers is the intriguing man he’d met two days ago, he decides to abandon all protocols and go out of his way to ensure that this man - Tyler Joseph - has a future.

“M’ teef hurt,” Tyler mumbles, pressing a finger up against his swollen gum.
Josh signs the form and turns to look at Tyler. He’s pressed into Josh’s side. One corner of his mouth is pulled downwards, frozen from the anaesthetic. Blood-soaked rolls of gauze are shoved into either corner of his mouth, and his eyelids flutter as if he’s fighting to stay awake. In Josh’s opinion, his fiancé looks as if he’s both high off his ass and suffering from a stroke.Or

Summary
