“Rocky, please stop moving,” Grace begged quietly, his hand out towards the alien in an attempt to get him to hold still. He did. It was completely silent other than the hum of the ship.

Summary
When Ryland Grace agreed to take the middle school science position at St. Thomas Catholic School in San Francisco, not once did he assume his life would become like this. When the resident priest of the school dies unexpectedly and tragically, the clergy is desperate to find a replacement for him.
Father Simon feels like he's not cut out for this. Seminary school was a last resort for him, which isn't something a lot of young priests like to admit, but it's the unfortunate reality for a lot of them. When God or fate or some other third party brings him to fill the massive, terrifying shoes of the previous priest of St. Thomas Catholic School, he begins considering other career choices all together. Especially when that role means he has to be around Dr. Grace all the time, who keeps interfering with his work.

Summary
Grace grabs his glasses and puts them on so he can make sure that the person next to him is Simon. He needs to know that Simon isn't a figment of his imagination.
His boyfriend's face comes into focus. Simon is more awake each time he blinks, eyes focusing on Grace. Wrinkles of concern settle between his eyebrows and on the top of his nose.
“Ry?”
Grace makes out Simon's torso with his hands. Smooth skin. Hair. The dip of his navel. Scar tissue. Nipples. The peaks of a few too many ribs. Simon is real. He's here. Grace didn't just invent him out of loneliness. Grace remembers him. Remembers his body and how it feels.
“Baby,” Simon says.
“Sorry. Sorry. I—nightmare.”
