In a rare bout of productivity, Sig finds a way to experience the cycle for himself by syncing his karma to another living being. Considering his limited pool of candidates, his much-beloathed head administrator seems like a decent enough subject for an initial test.
Unfortunately, he overestimated their ability to stay alive for more than a single day, and underestimated how persistent their killer would prove.

Forty-four hours ago, Moon’s car swerved off the bridge and fell into the freezing waters below. Neither she nor her younger brother have been found, but Sig isn’t sure how much longer he can fool himself that it was anything but a fatal accident.
He really did not need a call from his other best friend that they were at the site of the crash, waist-deep in the sound. But since he wasn’t going to leave them there, he better suck it up and drive over before they froze to death.

Five Pebbles holds little love for the creatures that come and go through his chamber. Or, at least, that used to be true.
Until a little ruffian took care of his scavenger problem. Until that same rodent continued to return to his chamber cycle after cycle, carrying gifts or attempting to get her dirty paws all over his puppet.
Five Pebbles held little love for the creatures passing through his chamber until one decided to stay and somehow wormed her way into his metaphorical heart like some fluffy Rot.
Which is all well and good, until Pebbles remembers how painfully short the slugcat lifespan is.
He decides that is unacceptable.

Summary
It was supposed to be a simple testing, a proof-of-concept. The auxiliary puppet could be physically altered to operate autonomously from any superstructure, but his thoughts were part of him enough that the self-modification could stop any influence of outside programs. Which meant it was Five Pebbles, his core that made up his very identity, that was reacting to this all as if it were terrifyingly, horribly intimate.
As with all prototype drones going through functionality testing, one must ensure its sensors are able to receive and process input without problems. In Pebbles' case, this means personally determining whether or not Suns' new tactile sensory program was working as intended.
