Summary
It starts, as so many things seem to, with Qifrey being absolutely miserable. It's not the ever present ache of his missing eye that used to follow him every waking second, nor the quiet underlying sense of dread that had never left him, cultivated by his own design to keep the silvertree roots at bay before the medics at the healing spire has cut him open and removed it with a precision no one thought possible. No, this was an entirely different sort of misery, one that was so mundane it bordered on comical in contrast to what he had endured.
Qifrey, quite plainly, is sick.

Summary
This is an ongoing series of how I imagine Kaveh's relationship with his gender - and Alhaitham's understanding of it in turn - unfolded.
You can view the series as a prequel to most of my canon fics since Kaveh is trans in every fic I've written (even if it's not tagged/relevant). I have written around a dozen fics as part of this series, and may post more of them on here as I get the courage.

Summary
The dizziness comes next, causing him to sway to the side, the knife slipping and slicing into his palm. Pain blooms, blood splatters against the wood of the cutting board, and drips after him as he drops the knife and flees. Tearing through the atelier like a hurricane, his apprentice's worried calls of his name are distant and muted in his ears.
