Rocky lowered himself a little more in the doorway. “The little is baby?”
“Right now, yeah.”
“The little is adult human.”
“Yes.”
“Also baby.”
“Yes. Like me, he regresses.”
“Human development remains confusing.”
I huffed. “You and me both.”
“Grace baby is bigger than the little baby.”
I looked down at the baby, at his too-big sleeve tied off where his left arm should have filled it, at the stuffed fox crushed against his chest, at the pacifier moving in his sleep.
“Yeah,” I said. “Grace baby is bigger than the little baby.”
Rocky was quiet for a while.
Then Rocky asked, “Who cares for the little baby?”

Jungkook wasn’t upset. He wasn’t upset that his hyungs had pulled away from him and given all their attention to Jimin and Yoongi. He wasn’t upset that even though he was the youngest, he was expected to help take care of his hyungs while they were in little space. He wasn’t upset that while his hyungs got all the attention they needed, he was resigned to slipping alone in the confines of his bedroom.
Or, Jungkook is secretly a little, and he doesn't want to tell his hyungs because they already have two littles to take care of, and three littles would be too many. But today's his birthday, so he'll have their attention for today at least, right?
