Cal should be used to it by now. Ever since his psychometry had kicked into high gear as he reconnected with the Force, he found himself subjected to strangers’ unfiltered lust. Sometimes the things people wanted to do to him sickened him, especially when he was younger. These days, more often than not, they simply bored him. It’s why he made a habit of wearing gloves.
Or: 5 times Cal was on the receiving end of unwanted lust, and 1 time he wasn’t but maybe wished he was.

Kata was his priority, his everything. She was Tayala's memory and future and the only thing he had left in the entire galaxy. She came first, no matter what, no matter who else stood in his way. And- Cal knows ships. He knows them as well as the backs of his hands, knows how they move and how they don’t and what holds them together, because he spent five years pulling them apart and wrapping himself in that lie and the tenuous safety it offered him, and so when he commands the fighter’s engines to break - he knows, deep in his bones, even before the sparks begin to fly, that there will be no repairing what he has just torn apart. There will be no escape for Bode Akuna, at least not on that ship.
“Bode!” he shouts, igniting his saber blades with the quick press of a button as the stormtroopers cluster closer around him, their blasters aimed and ready, a call for surrender he barely hears. “Stop running!”

Bode clears his throat, barely audible, but it snaps Cal out of his concentrated peace. His eyes, startlingly green and something Bode will never get used to, pierce Bode clean like a knife. Bode has to scramble to throw up a shield to guise himself before he feels Cal’s quiet presence reach out for him.
It’s warm. Bode wants to instinctively reach back, return Cal’s gentle prodding with something real. For a dangerous, desperate moment, Bode sincerely considers coming clean right then and there. I work for the Empire. I want to leave. I want to join you. I don’t want to deceive you anymore.
“You have a scratch there,” Bode says instead. His voice is too quiet for his liking. “Should get it patched up.”
