Every time he tried to get the man to talk to him, he was brushed off or flat out ignored, and Morgan was starting to get frustrated. Today he was going to talk to Reid, and not let him leave unless he got a real explanation for his hostility and paranoid behaviour. But now as he sat at his desk, he couldn’t help but worry for the man as he glanced back at the clock – ten minutes late. Reid hadn’t been this late to work in a long time.

There was only one thought that crossed Evelyn’s mind as she laid there, bleeding out in the December snow; I never wanted to die in the cold. It hurt to die alone, but it wasn’t a fact that surprised her in any meaningful way. It almost felt like something she’d prepared for – unlike the frost that crawled up her fingertips, biting at her nose, turning her skin an ugly dark blue as her mind began to cloud. It was only 5°, but she was still dressed for the office; her coat was long but thin, not real wool – she didn’t think it mattered much when she bought it – though she supposed now it wouldn’t matter much longer.

Of course, a third of the way there, his car decides to break down on the side of some random dirt path in South Dakota. He's stranded, broke and lost in the middle of nowhere with a dying phone and no service. Thankfully, Dean Winchester is heading home from work, on his way down the very same dirt road, and offers him a ride and a place to stay for the night.

Dennis heard a heavy breath on the other side of the line, followed by some mumbling and shuffling footsteps. Dennis almost jumped out of his chair when suddenly he heard knocking at the door.
When he opened it he was met with the sight of a very disheveled Charlie, the hood of his grey sweater pulled down halfway past his eyes, silver paint staining his mouth and nose, eyes red and watery. He looked like shit, frankly. He was shaking and he held his phone in a death grip with his right hand, call still going, Dennis’s phone still to his ear. He put it down when Charlie met his eyes.
