Summary
Smiling, Valjean released his hand, but Javert kept it on his cheek. He brushed his thumb under Valjean’s eye and moved his hand to the back of Valjean’s head, tilting it up. The fire in the fireplace cracked. Valjean’s brown eyes shimmered. Javert pressed their lips together – just for a moment – and when he pulled back, Valjean’s eyes were closed, his lips slightly parted, inviting.
“Tonight,” Valjean said, “let me have you.”

A month after the barricade, Javert meets Jean Valjean again.
Javert curled his hands into tight fists, feet rooted to the ground. Why was that man here? Why now, a month after Javert had let him go? After his life had been wrecked and upturned; after he thought, hoped, he would never see the man again?

“Where’s the carriage?” Valjean asked, raising his voice to be heard through the rain, and when he didn't get an answer, he followed with, “Come inside.”
The world crushes around Javert, and everything he's believed to be true, shatters.
Jean Valjean thinks that now that Cosette has fallen in love, there is no room for him in her heart.
So when Javert, lost and desperate, kisses Valjean, it opens a different path for them both.

Summary
“Turn round.” Valjean pushed gently against Javert’s shoulder and wet the cloth again. Beneath his hand, Javert gradually relaxed, faster than he would have just a month ago, and that knowledge made Valjean move a little bit gentler, a little bit slower, tenderly washing Javert everywhere.

“Bones, what are you doing here so early–”
“I’m stuck in a time loop,” Bones says, cutting Jim off. He opens the cupboard near Jim’s table and makes a face at its lack of contents. “And before you ask, yes, you’ve been aware of this the past few loops. No, I haven’t figured out how to break it yet.” Bones pauses and opens another door in Jim’s cupboard and scowls. “What did you do with all your liquor?”
Jim blinks, his brain trying to process everything Bones just told him.
OR
Bones is stuck in a time loop. Jim isn't. He relearns this everyday.
