Everything looked so overpoweringly green for a second then that he had to step away, face the wall, and put both his fists through it. Once. Twice. And only after the third time, when the pain began to focus him, could he return his attention to the man on the bed.
He knew him. Hadn’t seen him out of the suit in years, and he looked different, but he knew him all the same — would always know him. And up until a minute ago he’d thought he hated him.
He had wished him pain, and anguish, and death. But had never wished him this.
