Shane slowly lowered his sweatpants. He stepped out of them and folded them, placing them on the bed. Ilya felt his breath beginning to shallow as Shane stood directly in front of him. In one fluid motion, Shane lowered himself to his knees. Ilya felt Shane's dark eyes lock with his as he said, "I think you're sweet and beautiful."
"What?" Ilya asked, feeling the color rising in his cheeks.
Shane's needy gaze remained fixed on him as he continued, "You deserve to be cared for."
Ilya swallowed the hard lump in his throat and pleaded, “Stop, now—”

During Shane’s first season as a Centaur, he learns to ignore it when the Metros start throwing chirps his way. But when one of them goes after his husband in the one way that could actually hurt him, Shane handles it the logical way: he drops his gloves. (And later, he drops to his knees.)
