Summary
When Emma came to Storybrooke, she breathed life into Regina Mills. She broke the endless cycle of boredom, loneliness and despair that Regina was subjected to for 28+ years. I firmly believe the cracks in Regina’s heart were healed by the love and happiness Emma and Henry brought to her world. I attempt to explore that concept in this video.

Her parents have a new child. She herself seems to have acquired something resembling a boyfriend. And Robin and Regina are in a relationship.
Emma doesn't know what to do or how to feel about these changes. So she starts running. Not too far away, and never for long enough to cause her family worry. Just far away enough and for long enough to protect not only them, but herself.

Emma almost has everything. She's got a wonderful son, a beautiful, tender friend and co-parent, and a family she can count on. It was all she ever dreamed of, once upon a time. At times, she thinks she finally understands what authors mean when they end their story with: they lived happily ever after.
But the feeling always leaves her by the morning. Sometimes she thinks her real happy ending has disappeared somewhere in the past, somewhere in between the curses and forgotten memories. And now it is only a possibility lost to her memories.
If she could go back...

Canon-divergent season 2. No wraith, no magic hat.
The curse is broken and their entire world shatters. When Regina is put on trial for crimes against the people, she's dealt a punishment no one could have ever imagined. Now saddled with the burden of responsibility, the Saviour seems intent on making it her personal mission to ensure Regina's safety. And it wouldn't be such a big deal, only there are feelings that choke Regina whenever Emma shows that she cares (which is often, and never ending, and a problem).
But Regina learns that wants and needs are often one in the same, that redemption can come in form of healing, and gifts from a curse can only be unwrapped by the people who broke it.
Written for Swan Queen Supernova 2020.
