Frodo grasped Pippin's wrist, bracketed by Sam and Merry. Moving as one, the four bounded together to form a pack of rabbits, slipping to and fro between the building battle. Merry, instinctively, pelted a large rock at a Warg's eye with a cry as it came too close — it reared its ugly head, falling in line for Aragorn's Andrúil to pierce it through.
'Good aim,' he panted, carding the hair back from his eyes, 'We shall make you a slingshot yet.'
'A bow may suit him!' Came Legolas' bird-song call from above. His shadow spun a swift curvet against the coming dark, silver hair gleaming with the last vestiges of marigold skies. 'Alas, we could bear another archer!'
'You would want that, wouldn't you?' Gimli shouted.

Summary
Fool of a Took seemed to be the enduring muttered mantra of the Fellowship, at least where Gandalf was concerned. It was entirely possible that the others thought it in their hearts– certainly not his fellow hobbits, but perhaps the Men that were sworn to follow Frodo into fire and flames, the grumbling dwarf, and the strange elf who spoke rarely and blinked even less. Pippin tried not to let it prick his heart: he knew this quest was something far beyond his understanding of the world, knew that truly realizing it would warp his brain in ways that could not be undone, knew that, after all, he was just a simple hobbit who had quite literally stumbled into saving the world. He could quell the pinpricks with those thoughts.
Before Moria, of course. Before knocking the helmet down the well. Before the balrog.
(In which Legolas has a bad time, Pippin has even worse time, and the Fellowship finally gets around to talking about the balrog incident, though not before Legolas and Pippin run into trouble in the woods.)

By all rights, he should have healed by now. He should have. Something was very, very wrong. He needed to find someone who knew elves and their bodies, he needed Aragorn. Legolas pressed on through the halls and into the caves on unsteady legs that once possessed inhuman agility. He stumbled more than once, fighting to regain his footing as he scanned the faces surrounding him. Wizened human, elven soldier, curly-headed hobbit, none of them could help him. None of them were– “ Estel .” His friend’s face swam into sharp relief, and Legolas pitched forward as the world around him went grey, then white, then black as a starless sky.

Is there a chance that maybe even though they are so different, they can become friends?
(Or Gimli tries to understand Legolas and accidentally noticing that not only Lothlórien is strangely beautiful, but his elven comanion is as well...)

By the time Robin came around, Tim hadn’t carried himself like a child in a long time. Robin wasn’t a kid, he was a hero, defender of the innocent and Batman’s trusted partner. It was a job and Tim treated it like one, never slacking off or playing around. Bruce trusted him with the responsibility because he knew Tim could handle it.
Which was why, after Bane broke Batman’s back and put him out of commission, Bruce trusted Tim with Gotham. He trusted Tim to watch over Jean-Paul Valley as he handed him Gotham.
