Summary
Damian is a physician returning to America after years of working overseas. He has spent his life traveling from place to place, providing medical care wherever it was needed, never staying longer than necessary. He was content with that life, even if he sometimes wondered what it would be like to have a place to call home—something that had always felt out of reach and long accepted as such.
Now working in a hospital in New York due to a shortage of doctors, he finds himself closer to his past than he has been in years. Being back in the same country as his family and in a city like New York brings old memories to the surface. He wonders, briefly, if they will ever meet again.
Most likely not.
His family never cared for him to begin with.
And that was fine… He would continue to cherish them from a distance, even if it was never reciprocated. As long as they were healthy and happy. There was nothing more he could ask for.
So, what if he was suddenly needed in Gotham?
He should have known the moment he stepped off that plane.
His plan of staying away wouldn’t go as planned.

Summary
The chase leads him down a series of alleyways so old that new construction has blocked off road access to buildings that had done the same decades ago. It's a never ending maze into the lonely beating heart of Gotham. So it’s no surprise that he gets stuck in a section of crumbling wall almost as old as the city itself. It’s more embarrassing than anything else. Unwilling to announce his predicament on the main channel of his comm unit to the whole Bat colony, he radios the private channel between him and Dick for the first time in years.

Titus’s nose felt shockingly cold when it pressed against Damian's cheek, sending a jolt down his spine from where he was curled up on a couch deep within the bowels of the manor. Damian knew he was sick. It was obvious by the way his muscles ached with fatigue and the way his skin felt like there were thousands of tiny needles raking across it.
When he was still home, where the air was dry and warm and nothing like the suffocating cold wetness that was New Jersey. He hardly ever got sick like this at home, And when he did, it was something he had been able to keep quiet and move past. It never got in the way of his training, he wouldn't let it.AKA Damian and Tim have a blow out argument, where Damian acknowledges his role in this family to an uncomfortable degree.
