Bruce will have to balance giving his son a normal life, keeping his son from killing anyone, and keeping assassins from killing his son.

Dick’s glare was one of the fiercest Jason’s ever seen but it dropped the moment that Damian gave off a broken sob.
“We’ll try the tea,” Dick said gently.
He was careful in readjusting Damian, the damn kid really not wanting to shift off of Dick’s chest. Dick even tugged Damian a little upright, which the kid also had opinions on apparently, needing to make sure that Damian was at no risk of choking.
Damian tried to curl back against Dick once more but Dick didn’t let him.
Jason picked up the mug of tea up off the tray. It was cooler than Damian usually liked it, but he really hadn’t want to risk Damian burning himself on top of his already miserable condition. He held the mug out to Dick who took it and tried to coax it into Damian’s hands.

Summary
In this universe, Damian Wayne is not raised in the League of Assassins. Instead, he grows up with the Wayne Family. He grows up alongside all of the bats, shielded from vigilantism and violence. With everyone holding the hopes that maybe he could have a chance at a normal, happy life.
But, on Damian's tenth birthday, over nine years after Talia gave him to the Waynes, the League of Assassins returns to take him back. And his family— despite all of their best efforts— are too late to save him.
The League spends the next four years shaping him and crafting him and manipulating him into the weapon he was always supposed to be.
And although the Waynes looks for him, following every lead, every trail, they find nothing.
Until four years later, when Damian Al Ghul is assigned Gotham City for his next mission.
Or: A what-if Damian's life was reversed. And instead of going from an Al Ghul to a Wayne, he goes from a Wayne to an Al Ghul. (And then back to a Wayne again. Some things- like family- are too powerful to be fully changed.)
