You could understand their confusion. You were just as lost as they were.
You could understand their actions. You would act out just as they did, were the roles reversed.
You could understand their anger.
...But you couldn't understand their hatred.

“If it bothers you that much,” Itadori starts as he sits, “You should just tell me your name.”
Satoru doesn’t want to relate to this person—or anyone in general—so he answers firmly, “No.”
“Then how should I call you? Gojo-sama? Gojo-kun? Bocchan? ”
Satoru’s eye twitches.
“Satoru,” he says, yielding not for the sake of acquainting with Itadori but to put a stop to any other ridiculous name Itadori can come up with.
Itadori grins. He’s all rosy cheeks and white teeth it almost makes Satoru’s own hurt. “So, that makes you Satoru-kun.”
Where Gojo is born a little late into the timeline and Itadori Yuuji crashes into his world.

“This body reacted on autopilot,” he said, enunciation careful. “I... “ he looked up, cocked his head — that was a very Uzumaki gesture and not a very Sephiroth one, as was, oh, the entirety of his body language and posture — “if it were me I … Would have punched you harder.” He frowned minutely.
Sakura, who had been Genesis all three months and thus knew bleedthrough when she saw it, snorted.“You wouldn’t have punched me at all.”
“No, I would have punched you,” said Sephiroth. Then he scowled, and with Uzumaki’s intonation: “You were a dick.”

There's a long tradition on Mandalore: whoever holds a Taung's hide has effectively married them, and only stealing that hide back can return a Taung's free will. When someone steals his, Mand'alor the Indomitable wakes from millennia asleep to a vastly changed world, a clone squad stranded deep behind enemy lines, and a clone commander with enough secrets to get all of them killed.
Fox isn't the only one with an uncertain agenda, though. In the place of Indomitable's birth, a mountaintop city of shrines, something strange and old and powerful is stirring, and it won't be put back to sleep so easily.

Fox finally settles on something close enough to all of those, but just a step to the right. “Are they usually like that? Unnerving?"
“Always,” Gree says, those eyes that never miss a single detail. “Every single one of them.”
(Seven clone commanders gathering for a drink, and their reflections on war, love, and Jedi.)
