“MJ…” Foggy says with a smile, pleading with her as she holds back an eyeroll. Not very successfully it seems as Foggy continues, “It’ll be fun. Promise.”
“You and I have very different interpretations of the word fun,” she says as she continues to put some of the books back on the shelf.
“You were just saying that you wanted to have a little more exposure to the different parts of the job,” he says, leaning against the bookshelf and seeing his smile out of the corner of her eye.
“Not that kind of exposure,” she says, not when she knows who else will be at the gala.
“Why do you hate Spider-Man so much?” Foggy asks, Michelle grinding her teeth.
“I don’t hate him,” she says, ignoring the look that Foggy is giving her.
“I don’t trust him.”

Summary
Peter hates Greasy Pete’s.
He hates the smell of the food, stomach twisting itself into knots and making him queasy— from hunger and from revulsion in equal measure. He hates the customers, who are shitty at best and actively horrible at worst. He hates waking up before the sunrise every day, shivering in his apartment because even if he has a job now that can help pay his rent, it’s barely enough to cover anything else— all the blankets and clothes that he owns still not being enough to keep him warm.
Most of all, Peter thinks he just hates Greasy Pete’s because of what it stands for— a routine and a schedule that Peter doesn’t really want to have because he doesn't want much of anything anymore.
