Summary
Jack takes Izzy’s hand, giving it a squeeze as they walk up the path to the front door of the Barlow’s house. The cobblestones are lit by small solar lanterns, each containing a miniature flame that makes the cold evening seem just a little bit warmer. The building itself is as close to a New England-style mansion as you can get without being gaudy, and the fresh layer of snow on the roof makes it look like something out of a Hallmark movie. The glow of the lights strung across the front porch and along the widow’s walk twinkle merrily as they reach the door.
Izzy glares at the house. Of course, the Barlow’s home is beautiful and elegant. He wants to get mad about it, but he's suddenly curious about what kind of art they have. He expects it will be tasteful and expensive and utterly, devastatingly gorgeous. Probably with a lot of nudity.

Max is the most beautiful woman he’s ever laid eyes on - including Miranda, though he adores her - and her “brother” takes his breath away. A gorgeous fall of black curls framing high cheekbones, impossible blue eyes, and a mouth demanding to be fucked. His bronze skin glowed under the low light in the bar, and he wore a shirt with a neckline so plunging it he might have stolen it from his sister. Silver had seen him looking, and smiled a challenge as he asked what James would like. It was a minor miracle James had managed to say, ‘an Old Fashioned’ rather than ‘you’. They’d flirted as James sipped his drink, getting more intoxicated on Silver’s smile than the alcohol.
