“Caine, stop!”
Kinger’s cry caught Caine’s attention almost instantly, and he turned with hellish agility to look him in the eye. In his many hands were the other humans, pressed against the wall in a way that made Kinger’s heart clench. They struggled and grunted (likely in pain) as if that would have any effect on the monstrous figure above them.
God.
This was their God.
Or, what if Kinger confronted Caine in his monstrous form at the end of episode 8?

"Tetsu, I want to kill you." Sumio had both hands wrapped tightly around Tetsu's neck. He could feel Tetsu's shuddering heartbeat again under that warm, so warm, skin and he squeezed tighter. Tetsu didn't say anything, smug grin still on his face.
A truck driver is shot to death with a shotgun in a quiet bedroom town. Kusabi and Sumio rush to the scene, but what was supposed to be a one-off murder investigation takes longer than expected. It's Sumio's turn to stand watch, and as the night drones on, the case starts getting under his skin.

I saw you reading the same page for like twenty minutes.” He stepped backwards across the threshold of the room into the light of the rest of the office. “Come on, let’s get out of here. I’ll buy you a drink.”
Sumio stared at him, squinting slightly in the dark before sighing and powering down his computer. “Whatever. As long as you don’t cheap out again.”
