Summary
“You mustn’t encourage him, Alexander.” An expression of faint disdain crosses Stephen’s face as he glances sidewise down at the pup. “He’s incorrigible enough as is.”
Alexander’s eyes crinkle in a fond, small smile as he strokes the pup’s cheek. “Is that true?” He asks. “Are you incorrigible?”
The pup, Harry, puts on his most earnest face and leans against Alexander’s knee. He’s a lithe little thing, eyes a dark, coppery green beneath a cap of dark, untidy curls. His mouth quietly voluptuous. Alexander rests his hand in Harry’s hair and smiles gently. “No,” he says, speaking to Stephen but gazing at Harry, who keeps his eyes downcast, “he’s a good boy.”
Stephen rolls his eyes and takes a sip of his chenin blanc.

Summary
The fate of the expedition reimagined – in glimpses over the years stuck in the Arctic and a bit beyond, through Goodsir's and Collins' viewpoints. I wanted to explore what could perhaps have been, if small changes to the story were made along the way, if certain characters spoke more or made slightly different choices etc.
This focuses on the relationship between Goodsir and Collins, but it also touches on and explores their relationships with the other characters.

Henry whines at that, his eyes growing impossibly wide, his mouth hanging open. Christ but he’s a lovely thing. Such a big, soft-hearted lad, he may as well have been gift-wrapped for Alexander’s enjoyment, but adding in this lovely, pleading, submissive side as well? Alexander couldn’t imagine a more perfect creature.

The plan is simple.
Firstly, convince Crozier that hysteria also affects men and to let them get the treatment they sorely need.
Secondly, to find as much grease and oil that could be spared. By either buggering, frigging, or a mixture of techniques McDonald assures will work...these men were going to be cured of their hysteria.
