“Things change, Batman. Are you going to let more people die because of your pride?” There was no mistake. This was, indeed, an accusation. One that Superman was more than aware would hit Bruce right where it mattered. He was forcing him to listen.
“Don’t,” Bruce warned. “I said I can handle it.”
“No you can’t! Every night, you patrol without a break. You stop a crime or catch a villain. Most of the time, you don’t even let your kids help. You can’t keep doing this alone, Bruce. At least not with this case. Let me help you.”
“You?” Bruce pinched the bridge of his nose, already done with pretending this conversation wasn’t getting on his nerves.A murderer is spreading terror in Gotham. Without a single clue or trail to follow, Bruce is getting more and more frustrated and reaching the limit of his capabilities. The Bat is stubborn and proud, the polar opposite of the golden son of Krypton, but he’s got no other option but to accept the help Clark Kent forces on him to solve the case.
It’s a nightmare to try and keep his distance from the charming blue eyes and the soft smiles. But he can handle it, right? -
