Six forced his face and voice to stay neutral. “What?”
“I’m not personally escorting them, but my people informed me of a…” Hansen pauses, seemingly looking for information. Six’s gut is always right, and there was a rock settling in the pit of his stomach. “Colt Seavers and Ryland Grace. Who knew Sierra had family?” A cold laugh echoed through the phone. “I’ll see you soon, Six. Family reunion! How exciting.”
The line went dead. Six was still, except for his right hand slowly crushing the phone held to his ear. He would need to get rid of it anyway.
This stupid fucking USB. He wanted to burn it.
Glass crunched in his fist, the phone irreparable. God, he was going to fucking murder Lloyd Hansen.
He brought the phone down, staring at it. The screen had faded to darkness.

Summary
Six had been gentle, once. Soft hands cradled fragile lives, achingly tender and kind because he chose to be. Before it was trained out of him, because emotion became a liability and there was no place for being gentle when his hands were meant to kill, not cradle.
He had been gentle, once, but he didn't remember how to be anymore. His hands only knew how to hurt. He was nothing like the brother that Colton and Ryland once knew.
And then... then there was Claire. His responsibility. His to protect. His to be gentle for. And maybe he could learn again. Maybe he could be that same big brother he once was.
Maybe, he could finally face them again.
He was learning to be gentle again, but it might have come too late.

In all the chaos of the "Amelia thing," as Holly calls it, or "the weirdest goddamn week of my life," as March calls it, or "the case" as Healy calls it, the bandages on March's wrist didn't exactly slip Healy's mind, but they weren't at the front of it. Now, face to face with the scar, the question of those bandages is suddenly all he's thinking about.
