    “Ah. It’s… Ilya,” her fucking uncle said. Her uncle, who she hadn’t spoken to since she was seven years old. “Ilya Rozanov,” as if that needed clarifying.

    When the trust that Ilya set aside for his niece, Irina, becomes available to her at eighteen, Ilya speaks to her for the first time in twelve years. It changes a lot of things, for the both of them.

    It is so wild to me that in the Game Changers/Heated Rivalry universe, the Latvian men's ice hockey team actually beat the Russian men's ice hockey team, just off-camera like no big deal, and nobody seems to have burned anything down.
    So I just had to write a little thing about that.
    (Yeah in real life the US didn't even medal, how's that?)
