“And you're sure this'll work?” Charles asked, looking at the cloth-like tube in his hand.
“Shoa,” Arthur replied, the drawl in the voice distorting the word. “He said so at least.”
“That photographer fella?”
“Albert, yea.”

Summary
The bruises mottle Buck’s skin, like paint splattered clumsily on a canvas. Except—the artist behind this, whoever they are, clearly went about it with intent and precision. A curator of hickeys; Buck’s pale thighs like the walls of a gallery. A thriving one, at that. It’s… a lot of marks.
Eddie wonders if it hurts. Well—he knows that part already, at least based on what Buck told him a few minutes ago. So instead, Eddie starts to wonder if it hurt. The procedure behind the photo; the act of being marked up so irrefutably.
Buck reacts to Eddie’s thumbs up message with a thumbs down.
Buck: I just accidentally sexted you dude
Don’t 👍👍👍👍 meOr: Eddie receives an unintended photo. Then he bites some thighs about it.

Summary
“Buck, you give so much of yourself to everyone else, sometimes I don’t think you even realize you do it. You give so much of yourself away that sometimes I worry that you forget to save some for yourself” Eddie said, voice shaking slightly.
Buck felt his breath hitch, he wanted to ask more questions, but he couldn’t find his voice, so instead he simply sat and listened.
“Sometimes, I worry that… I worry that you’ll spend so much time trying to save everybody else, that you’ll end up forgetting to save yourself somewhere along the way. And I… I can’t stand the thought of losing you like that. I hate the thought of doing this alone, doing this without… you” Eddie said.
OR:
An alternative version of Buck and Eddie's journey home from Nashville; they get into an argument, become separated and both have to face up to some honest truths about how they feel about each other. Angsty with a little bit of fluff and humour injected throughout; this is a canon divergent re-telling where the kidnapping doesn't happen, but there is still plenty of tension to unpack and jeopardy to contend with.

Summary
The realization goes something like this, as Eddie sits under a flapping rainbow pride flag in the bay of the firehouse and studies its colors.
Red, like his cheeks when Buck smiles at him.
Orange, like the juice he wishes he'd started drinking years ago.
Yellow, like the color of Shannon's dress the day she died.
Green, like the jealousy that strangles him when he thinks about losing Buck.
Blue, like the color of the most beautiful eyes he knows.
Violet, like the bruise blooming on Buck's left cheekbone. Right where Eddie wants to place his lips.
And Eddie thinks, for the first time, that maybe he feels something approaching pride, or something adjacent to it at least, for himself.
Or; In one Pride Month, Eddie meets an old friend, learns about himself, comes out to people who love him and learns to be proud (in roughly that order).
