Summary
“You bit me,” Yoshida says. It was simply too much. It was Yoshida’s body against his, his mouth on his skin, his voice calling out for him, and Denji was arrested with the desire to bite and mark and make himself permanent, even if just for a moment. He hadn’t even realized he had given in until he came down from a strung out high and saw the imprints of his teeth on ivory skin.
Denji has mapped his body, and save for the small scar on his palm, the other man is unblemished. Except for the remnant of himself.
He doesn’t apologize. He isn’t sorry. Yoshida leans forward and he is overcome with the hunger to mark him again, to sink into his blood and stay a while. Yoshida takes his hand and lays fleeting kisses on each fingertip until Denji slides his hand around the back of his neck to pull him into a kiss. Close mouthed and slow, and it’s still the best thing he’s ever had.
Then he dunks Yoshida into the bath and the other man comes up for gasping for air, streams of water dripping from his hair.
Or
Denji's heart is killing him, so he runs away from the only people who held it in the hopes he can die quietly without leaving behind scars. It doesn't work.

Summary
Denji's said little besides short, close lipped yes’s and no’s, but Yoshida doesn’t give him much either.
Denji stood on the tips of his toes when they shut their apartment door behind them, but Yoshida just ducked around him and unlaced his shoes. He ran his hands over Yoshida’s shirt, dipped his fingers below the collar and Yoshida stepped away to clean his plate in the sink. He can almost smell the frustration building until finally Denji can’t take it any longer, and he pushes him down on the couch. Yoshida goes with little resistance.
“Why won’t you touch me?” Denji lisps, crossing his arms. He tries to sound stern, his head tilted like he’s staring down a beast, but his lips bend in a pout, and Yoshida barely represses his carnivorous grin.
Or
Denji gets a tongue piercing. Yoshida reaps the benefits.

Summary
The first time Katsuki meets Izuku, the first time he sees green so bright it nearly blinds and is old enough to remember, he thinks him rather plain. There’s a splattering of freckles, nervous, twisting hands, and of course, eyes of emerald—the only thing about the other boy that will linger past their first meeting—and little else.
His mother is much of the same, though she squats down to Katsuki’s level and peels her son’s fingers from the edge of her skirt. Then she smiles at him, and Katsuki thinks she’s beautiful.
He hides behind his mother’s legs to escape her kindly gaze.
“Katsuki-chan,” she says, shifting like a wave receding to expose its sandy banks, and big, tearstained eyes meet his, “this is Izuku.”
Or
Katsuki wants to spend the rest of his life with Izuku. He wants to fight by his side until they grow old and grey and sick of each other. Telling him is another matter entirely, one he's afraid he's running out of time to do.

Summary
Yoshida takes off his coat and splays it on the ground for them to share. Denji wouldn’t mind lying on the dirt, but he has always been particular about things like this. Yoshida has tried to impress upon him the fraying line between want and need.
“You need safety and peace of mind,” he has said. “A warm home with someone waiting for you. You need to grow old and happy and sated.” Then he would grin and lean into Denji’s space, press him against a wall or further into his sheets. “You want me.”

Summary
When Izuku wakes, he cannot breathe. Darkness creeps across his eyes before fading into pinpricks at the edge of his vision. There’s dust in the scant air between himself and the ceiling a palm’s length from his nose, thick enough that if he could move his arms, he’d be able to part it like the ocean.
This is not how he thought he would die—trapped under a slab of concrete, a steel rod halfway inside his chest, but it’s more than he dared hope for. The blood pooling beneath him is warm and it is his. There is no one lying wounded by his side, and he is grateful.
“Izuku,” Katsuki says. He sounds nervous. Scared, Izuku might say, if it were someone else. But Katsuki is not someone else, and he is never afraid. “Stay awake.”
Or
Izuku's never been afraid of death. He's never had anything to lose. Until now.

Summary
Ling had traced the Vulpecula constellation with an elegant finger and told Ed he’d been born under the autumn constellation. That his mother said he was destined to grow up plagued by hardships and strife but would find fortune and love under the same stars.
He said he was born in the year of the ‘little fox’, and Ed had laughed, told him it was fitting.
Ling had taken Ed’s hand and together pointed towards the horizon, drawing an erratic path between stars that Ed hadn’t recognized. Told him he was born in the year of the dung beetle because he was a little shit. Emphasis on the ‘little’.
“Wouldn’t we be the same animal?” Ed had asked. “We’re the same age.” And Ling smiled, the soft one that never failed to make Ed’s knees go weak, and admitted that technically Ed was older by a scant thirteen months, but it hadn’t been worth mentioning because Western ages are rather primitive and unimaginative and they lack soul and ingenuity and Ed had cut him off with a fistful of grass to the face, the night dissolving into the carefree laughter that Ed has only ever been able to attribute to Ling.

Summary
Zeke hates when his brother cries.
Or
Zeke watches Carla run a delicate hand over the package and burns to know what’s inside. He wants to rip the elegant paper from the box and unearth the first kind thing they’ve received since they moved out here. Wants to revel in the soft affection they’ve been deprived of for so long, even if it’s just for a moment. Eren bounces up to his side and ducks under Zeke’s arm to peer up at the package laying on their dining table; he too, seems greedy in his interest. Instead of reaching for the box, Zeke stills the hunger burning hot in his chest and leaves to call his father, ruffling his brother’s dark hair as he walks past.
