She occasionally exchanged a few words with some, while they stared at her lips obsessively, thinking that would somehow make her want to kiss them. It never happened, by the way.
She'd dated a few guys over the years, usually the ones not completely obsessed with her, and they always acted too polite, scared perhaps that a wrong move would ruin their reputation. But as soon as someone tried to take things further, she broke up with them. No explanations.

An elegant woman, slender and pale, dressed in the finest black silk. Golden feathers in her purple hair. The bartender beside her, a Korean American who was equally as gorgeous, filled her glass with clear booze before topping it with a green olive.
Mira Kang would have given every single dime in her family will to have those two on her lap.
