Natasha forces herself to look at him, because she is not a coward. She looks him in those big, intrusively kind eyes. He’s solid as a tree, crouched here, holding her up.
She forgets, sometimes. Behind the purple bandaids and the soft underbelly of his easily bruised feelings, she forgets Clint Barton is an oak tree in a storm.
