For the record, Ajax was not at all opposed to being sent on missions as another Harbinger's backup. As long as he was given things to fight and the rest of the tasks were not excruciatingly boring to get through, Tartaglia would comply without issues.
The actual mission, the actual tasks, the actual experience of being the backup was not the issue here.

Because there’s one thing that’s unfamiliar. One difference from his usual waking up from a coma routine. Sometimes Chopper is there, checking on him and startled when he’s awake.
